Let’s go “All In”

Let’s go “All In”

In March of this year, we moved into our freshly renovated Worship Center. I think every one of us is thankful for the improvements that have been made to our facility and that it is set up to serve our church and the residents of our community for the foreseeable future. Of course, a project like this comes with a hefty price tag, and thank you to everyone who has given so generously over the last couple of years to help us make strides in paying for it.

When we started the project, we were fortunate to secure a low interest rate of 3.45% for five years. If you have shopped interest rates lately, you know what a great rate this is. However, we only have two more years left at this rate and need to pay as much as possible before the rate increases. We have set the lofty goal of taking in $1.5 million between now and the end of 2026. This would help us make a considerable dent in what we owe before the rate increases.

While this goal is attainable, it will take all of us giving generously and, at times, sacrificially above our general gifts to the church. Because of this, we have chosen the theme “All In” for this two-year campaign. For us to see this debt reduced and eventually paid off, we are all going to have to join in and give together. Every gift matters, and every one of us can contribute something. You will receive additional information in the coming weeks, but this campaign will kick off on December 15th with a special offering at our church Christmas Gathering. I want to ask you and your family to join us in our steps to go above and beyond our regular giving to see this much-needed upgrade to our facility paid off. If we all go “All In,” I know God will bless it and help us see this project through to the end.

For His glory and your joy,
Pastor Charlie

Missions Month

November is Missions Month, but that doesn’t stop us from getting started early! We have prayer stations around the church to learn and pray about people worldwide.

WHAT IS PRAYER WALKING?

Prayer walking is “praying on-site with insight.” Allow what you see, hear, feel, smell, and taste

to help inform your prayers.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you pray.

HOW DO I PRAYER WALK?

Begin with praise and confession.
Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Him in His work by lifting up the spiritual and physical needs of the people group or community you walk through.
Confess any known sin so that you intercede with a clean heart.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and prayers as you go.

If you aren’t sure what prayer needs to ask for, praying Scripture is a great place to start. Pray through any verses that come to mind. Be sure to note what passages and insights the Lord brings to your mind.

Donation Opportunities for VBS

A note from our pastor..

“The single, biggest evangelistic event we have all year long for kids is Vacation Bible School. We are hoping to fill our building with boys and girls from all over our community. The focus is simple, tell them about Jesus. Through games, crafts, and Biblical teaching, we will do our best to introduce every kid who comes through the doors to Jesus Christ. We will be sharing that He alone is the "Way, Truth, and the Life." We are praying that the Gospel would be sown into precious little hearts and that many would trust in Jesus for salvation.” - Charlie Blount

WILL YOU HELP BY DONATING?

Boxes will be located throughout the building for drop-off donations. Thank you!

We're Remodeling

DETOUR AHEAD!

Demolition has officially begun and the Worship Center is now a construction zone that should not be entered without authorization and proper protection. All of the Worship Center doors will be locked and there will be a temporary wall in both breezeways that will restrict access to the hallway behind the worship center. The bathrooms and choir room will still be accessible. We are excited and thankful to be in this season of work.

With that being said, to get from the East building to the West building and vice versa, we recommend accessing the second floor by stairs or elevator and traveling across the Atrium walkway behind the black curtains.

The mission opportunities will be things like Backyard Bible Club, homeless ministry, street witnessing, prayer walking, light construction, yard work, worship leading, etc. We will also have some fun sightseeing and tourism opportunities in the city of New Orleans. We are also planning on helping students raise funds who might need financial assistance. If you are interested in this trip, please contact Daniel or Jason.

Holy Week at First Moore

On Palm Sunday, April 10, we will begin Holy Week with a night of worship that will include testimonies, scripture reading, and worship through song. This will begin at 6pm in the Worship Center.

Our Good Friday Service will be a more intimate time of reflection as we remember the death of Jesus. This service will begin at 6:30 in the Atrium on Friday, April 15.

Easter Sunday will be a joyous morning of fellowship and worship celebrating our risen Savior starting with a breakfast from 8:45 to 10:00am and then Worship, beginning at 10:30am. We hope you, your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, whoever… can join us that morning!

Discipleship Pastor Candidate

First Moore is excited to announce John Wilkerson as our candidate to be our next Discipleship Pastor. John has been serving the Lord faithfully on college campuses for the past fifteen years. He has a great heart for the Lord and for making disciples. We believe that he will be a great addition to our pastoral team.

To learn more about John, view his testimony here:

Sunday, April 10, has been set aside for the congregation to get to meet John and to affirm the work that God has been doing. We will have a Meet and Greet in the Atrium from 9:00am-10:00am with light breakfast items. Immediately following our 10:30am Worship Service we will enter into a time of special called business for a vote of affirmation.

Join us in prayer over the next month that we could continue to be in step with what God wants and for the future work that is to come.
